For the people of Israel belong to God. They are God’s special possession. God found them in a desert land, in an empty, howling wasteland. God surrounded them and watched over them; God guarded them as if they were God’s own eyes. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so God’s wings spread and took them up and carried them safely on pinions. Deut. 32:9-11

Let us pray. Thank you God, that you care for us the way a mother bird cares for her nest. Teach us to fly into the world knowing that your hand is with us and your voice guiding us along the way. Amen.
