Lenten Devotion, Holy Saturday, Apr. 8
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope. (Psalm 130:5)
Waiting is hard. Whether we're waiting for signs of Spring to break in around us after a long, dreary winter or waiting for exuberant shouts of "Alleluia! Christ is Risen!" after another 40-day journey through Lent, waiting is hard.
And yet, we wait with eager expectation. For in God's word, there is hope. Always hope. Resurrection hope. Easter is coming...
Gracious and Merciful God, in times of waiting may we remain steadfast in your word and assured of your promise and presence in, with, and among us, not just in Lent, but in each and every season of our lives. Amen.
