Lenten Devotion, Good Friday, Apr. 7
“You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name’s sake lead me and guide me, take me out of the next that is hidden for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hands I commit my spirit; for you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.” Psalm 31:3-5
The last line of this verse is what Jesus quotes on the cross in Luke 23:46 and then breaths his last. You see above he is quoting Psalm 31 which is not about dying but rather living. The life we lead is every day the life of recognizing God is our redeemer and God is faithful even through death as we observe today on Good Friday.
Let us pray: Help and guide us this day, O God, to put our trust and our life in you as our refuge and our redeemer. Amen.
